Built by IT people, for IT people
Lapse.watch was born from a simple frustration: the IT team was tracking SSL certificates, domain renewals, and warranty expirations across spreadsheets, calendar reminders, and sticky notes. We built the tool we wished existed — one dashboard to track everything that expires.
Every IT professional has been there. It's 2 AM and your phone is ringing because a wildcard certificate expired and took down the main website. Or you find out a domain was sniped by a squatter because someone missed the renewal email. Or hardware fails the month after the warranty lapsed, leaving you with an emergency purchase order.
These aren't edge cases. They're the daily reality of IT operations. And while enterprise monitoring tools exist, most IT teams — especially at smaller organizations — need something simpler. Something that just tracks expiration dates and alerts you before things lapse.
That's what Lapse.watch does. No bloat. No unnecessary complexity. Just a clean dashboard that shows you what's expiring, when, and who's responsible for it.
About the Founder
Ryan McMillan
Ryan has spent 20+ years in technology leadership, including roles as Technology Services Director at financial institutions. He's written about cybersecurity, AI, and IT operations for industry publications like CUInsight and Finopotamus, and spoken at national conferences on cybersecurity, compliance, and emerging technology in financial services.
He built Lapse.watch because he was tired of watching teams get burned by things that silently expire. After one too many 2 AM certificate outages, he decided to build the tool he wished he'd had.
When not building tools, Ryan coaches youth baseball, collects trading cards, and spends time with his family in Wisconsin.
