Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Lapse.watch ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Lapse.watch is a tracking and alerting service that helps you monitor expiration dates for SSL certificates, domains, warranties, contracts, service accounts, and subscriptions. The Service includes automated monitoring, configurable alerts, and reporting features.

3. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
  • You may not share account credentials or allow multiple users to use a single account
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms

4. Subscription and Billing

Free Trial

New accounts receive a 14-day free trial with access to all features. No credit card is required to start a trial. At the end of the trial, you must subscribe to continue using the Service.

Pro Plan

  • The Pro plan is billed at $29 per month per team
  • Billing is processed through Stripe
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
  • You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period
  • We do not offer refunds for partial months

Price Changes

We may change our prices with 30 days notice. Continued use after the price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems
  • Use automated scripts to scrape or overload the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
  • Upload malicious content or attempt to inject harmful code
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations

6. Data and Content

  • You retain ownership of any data you input into the Service
  • You grant us a license to process your data to provide the Service
  • You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to input any data
  • We may delete your data after account termination as described in our Privacy Policy

7. Service Availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or due to circumstances beyond our control. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of planned maintenance.

8. Alert Limitations

While we make every effort to deliver alerts accurately and on time, we cannot guarantee delivery of all alerts. Alert delivery depends on third-party services (email providers, SMS carriers, Slack, Microsoft Teams) and factors outside our control. You should not rely solely on Lapse.watch alerts for critical infrastructure decisions.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

12. Termination

  • You may terminate your account at any time from your account settings
  • We may terminate or suspend your account for violations of these Terms
  • Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately
  • Your data will be deleted within 30 days of account termination
  • Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect

13. Modifications to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Lapse.watch operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
